jdm side markers

can someone pls chime in...

are there 2 different jdm side markers with that use different kinds of sockets? do the usdm sockets fit in the jdm markers? i'm wondering because i want to get a pair but i've seen one set that have square-ish sockets and rounded sockets (which my 04 takes).
