My original muffler started making weird noises.. some piece fill inside or somethin.. so i bought the Vibrant Dual Flat Black Muffler and on the website it said its not that loud, i just installed it today and its ridiculous loud.. is there anyway i can silence it? the only reason i liked it cuz its black and am not the type of person that likes loud mufflers but it can be loud as long as i dont get pulled over.. also i was stupid and ordered the 3" inlet thought i was buying the 2.5" but next time ill read carefully before i buy

turbo.

haha!

or you can buy a resonator and get a shop to weld it onto your exhaust.

my friend has an aftermarket cat converter, to a skunk2 with resonator welded onto it. it sounds perfect. not loud, not raspy, but deep.

If you use that then you probably have to run a full 3" exhaust. If you run that on a a3, your going to lose a ton of torque maybe even some in the high end.

Go to clubep3.net get something that's suitable and more legit than eBay.

The longer the resonator the quieter your exhaust will be.

You said your exhaust is 2.5", and you mistakenly purchased a 3" muffler, why on gods green earth would you AGAIN look at a component that is the WRONG size?!?

The vibrant mufflers are not all that quiet, there is ONLY one muffler available that creates more useable whp without an obnoxiously loud exhaust tone, a loop muffler!

x2!
You should cut your losses - sell the vibrant and start over! I have a (correct for my pipe size) 2.25" straight through system that is VERY loud. Fortunately I like it that way! You are not going to be happy putting a bandaid solution on a major mistake...

Would the obx twin loop muffler be good?

since you like the look of black muffler, i'd keep the vibrant since its already on there. the shop probably had to "expand" the piping a bit to weld onto the muffler. Maybe look into a vibrant resonator (http://www.clubrsx.com/clubep3/VIB-1793.html) and that should suit what you're looking for.
