hi everyone, I've been meaning to lower my car for along time now, and after some research i've come to a decision of getting gc spring +koni yellows.

the problem is their are 2 diameter sizes 50mm and 55mm. and i have no idea which one to pick.
I have a 2004 ep3.
help =/!

Is there an easy way of telling which size i have? or will i have to do it the hard way and take them off and measure them?
no thank Panda, I'm opting for brand new ones.=)

you can just remove the wheel or probably even turn the wheel all the way one way and reach in behind and measure them. You'll need a micrometer or digital caliper to measure the body diameter. its not something that can be done with any accuracy with a measuring tape.

I dont know what civics came with the 55mm ones, but im assuming only type Rs have the 55s becaues normal civics of our vintage have 50mm struts, and i measured mine as well and they are 50mm as well. however, my car is a 2002 Si(R). if your car is after the slight update (04-05) then i cant say with any certainty which size they are.

Your best bet is to mearsure them yourself anyways. but you dont have to remove them from the car by any means. Just take the wheel off and measure the diameter of the shock body.

I recently did the koni strut inserts. I have a 05 Ep3 and they measured 50mm. I used a measuring caliper to get the proper mm size. I have heard from some people that Honda switched over to 55mm for the ep3 for 04 & 05's, but yet to see someone with that size chime in. I bought rsx strut housing for $50 bucks and used 8610-1415S (55mm). The 50mm strut inserts are tuned for the em2 chassis.
