I would turbo but it would get expensive fast, so what im planning on doing is catback, race header, intake and hondata reflash. how much gains can i see along with running 93 if its tuned for it??? sorry for noobish question, my first honda and i want to get as much power out of the econo engine..

It's cheaper to boost than do bolt ons with our craptastic stock motor. I don't think you're even supposed to run the reflash with a race header. Kpro > reflah

i meant kpro, sorry. i would turbo and i know our engines have low compression, but will turbo'ing my hatch reduce the reliability of the engine and it wont last as long?

youd spend about twice as much just to get an n/a motor to get to 300whp than going boost. and the funny part is you cant even hit 300 whp n/a with an a3 but its very possible with boost.

and no it wont be less reliable if you go boost, its just you have to keep a close observation on your car, well moer than usual anyways.

if you want reliabilty check your compression, do a leak down, and if eveythings fine go boost and find a great tuner

what about the rev-hard kit set at like 10 psi for a daily driver?

Revhard was a great turbo kit. Where can you find them new though?

Haha. You do know there's more than just the kit to take into account. I.e. kpro, exhaust, tune, oil, spark plugs, tune changing your gas from 87 to 91 etc. Boost gets pricey as well.

Take your time and do some research. A swap before you boost is the way to go imo

Whichever way you go, its gonna get alot more expensive than you think...Just do your research and make a detailed budget b4 you go ahead with it. I'd rather swap the motor out than waste time trying to make an a3 go fast. You will get tired of the a3 pretty quickly, even with the jrsc. save up for a swap and do it right the first time. It will save you money in the long run. If you are planning on getting a turbo after the swap, you can get k24a1 relatively cheap and there probably is no need to waste money on a k24a2 like I did. I'm a noob as well so if I'm wrong I'm sure somebody will correct me.

k24a1 will be less than $1000
Definitely wanna get kpro $900 as well.
A bunch of other things you would need, check out the motor swap sections as well

I'm already running full synthetic, Kpro included with the kit, so tune, around 400 bucks and im going custom 3 inch exhaust for about 350 probably

and also, my car has only 33k miles on it...i definately dont want to swap yet, the low compression is an added bonus for me though because from my understanding, the lower compression of the engine, the better it can handle boost?

Yes and no. The motor is low compression which is good for high boost application but the a3's rods are toothpick thin

"Full synthetic" isn't a mod, right?

To be technical... Anything MODified from the stock form would be considered as a mod.
