Blitz iPod connector troubleshooting

Hey everyone, so I installed my blitz iPod connector and once i was finished and plugged everything back up I tested it out and I noticed that the blitz iPod connector does not charge the iPod or iPhone 3g. Is this correct? Can anyone confirm this for me because my friends charges his iPhone 3g and regular iPod nano. I am not sure if I have an earlier model where it does not have the charging capability, but I was wondering if anyone can chime in and give me some input here. Thank you and anything is appreciated.

did you buy it used? you might need the updated cord they sell. Call them and see if thats why, its what i did

yes i purchased mine used. so i'm just assuming there's two different cords. did it cost you for the newer cord?

i know right, good thing i posted up. i've noticed my plug (in the link) is completely different from the one i have
