Hey everyone i just bought my ep3 last week and so far its been a sweet ride. I have however ran into a couple of issues on some the parts from the car. Can anyone tell me what is the function of the part i pointed out in the picture below is called? Just this week everytime i turn right i can a hear a very annoying squeak from that particular area. When i turn to far right or left it makes a popping sound aswell. Is this something i can pick up at an autoparts store and replace my self? Thanks for the help guys, much appreciated.

are you sure it's not your axles or cv boot?

Is your car lowered?

Yes the car is lowered. Just springs though. I would of thought the axles or the cv boot would of been the problem but im pretty sure the squeak came from that area. But just to be sure i will check again.

Uhhhh, those are your tie rods that come out of the steering rack...they make the car turn. The squeek is normal as eps age, its in the steering rack, there's a chance it will go away over time.

As for the poping, its your cv joints...

Yes makes a lot of sense. Do you know if there is something to make the squeaking to go away or would i have to replace the rods? Thanks for you help guys!!!!

Thanks for you help guys!!!! the tie rods aren't what are quueeking, the internals of the rack are, your best bet is to pull back the boots and spray white lithium grease in

that said, now that i think of it, it may not be lithium grease, i cannot remember as it was a write up that oldschoolimport did a while back...a water proof grease is essentially what you need

That popping noise could be a bad strut bearing as well. If your axles are ok check into that next. I am about to replace my right strut bearing in the next day or 2.

Could be cracked bushings in your lcas... Just bought new front lca's took out my old ones and noticed they were dry rotten and cracked. After I replaced them I'm 200% less squeaky
