Hey Guys, i think this is my first post, but anyway I am going to order some 16x8" XXR's but dont know if I should go with 15 offset or 0 offset. I know i can get them both to fit, but you need to really camber out the back with the 0 offset. This is my DD. What do you think?

What wheel are u talking about? I have the
002s and i dd my ep no issues -4.5* of camber in the rear.... if ur talking about the 002s then def go for the 0 offset, the other offset looks whack

I was looking at the 501's but I know alot of camber sucks in the rain for traction. My brother has 0 offest on his EF. Figured the 15 offset would still have a decent lip but less camber is needed

i ran 501's 16x8 +15, rolled the rear with no camber kits just natural camber from lowering

Im really confused how you are turbo and still on 195 tires.. Do you have much traction issues? Off topic, I know!

any more pics??? Im thinking of the +15 now since the 0 offset probably gets bad traction in the rain with a ton of camber?

am thinking of picking up a set of 501's my self. 0 offset looks good with the wide lip but i think the +15 is little better for daily driver
might be wrong. its just the camber in the rear am worried about. going thru tires. ep3colin's hatch looks good in his pic.

On the flip side.... I know lots of ppl running 0 offset and they have no issues....

I actually just ordered up my xxr's. I got the 17x8.25 xxr 527's in matte bronze. They have a +25 offset and wrapped in 215/40r17 tires. When I got them on the car later this week Ill have to post up a pic. I looked it up and all you need to do is roll the fenders to get them to fit. Also camber is at stock specs for them. Google xxr 527 ep3.

Yeaaaa man just make sure you roll those fenders if you havent already. I have to get that done before I drop it on the coilovers.

I had the rear fenders shaved when I got dropped, those should be no problem :D Do the fronts need a roll?

How about if you're on HFP kit and 215/45/17? Or do you need to roll fenders regardless? I've been looking at the 527's for awhile but couldn't find any info if it will fit or not.

if on hfp kit u should be ok if ur not going to slam it to the ground. if ur going to leave it hfp hight then ur ok. the problem is when u slam it to the floor.

Just put the 527's on and I must say....its a perfect fit. I was wrong about the stock camber it looks like once I lower it it will need a very little amount of so little it might not even be noticable.

I ended up getting the 16" 002's with 0 offset. Ill have pics once they are on. I have my racelands all the way down,so i migh need to raise it up since I will have a smaller overall tire diameter

Well its all up to you really. But if you want it to be "hella flush" its gotta be lower than a 2 inch drop. But than again, I'm not that into that stuff, I'm just regurgitating what I see online for the standards on hella flush

Im more of a function over form guy. So It looks like Im not going to meet the standards of hella flush. I heard that if you go to much lower then a inch that it throws the suspensions geometery off and Im trying to get it ready for the track.

whatsvtec
02-21-2012, 03:47 PM
If you're trying to head for the track, you should probably have bought a more reserved offset, wider tires and drop it on something more/better than springs or racelands.

Well then I guess this is one of those live and learn situations. Coming from building a wrangler to this makes me quite a newb. But I havent even ordered anything to lower it just yet. I was thinking tein super street coilovers with upper pillowball mounts keep in mind it is still a dd. But id like to have a little fun at the track every now and then.

whatsvtec
02-21-2012, 04:43 PM
It's alright man, like your sig says, It's a work in progress. Same goes for everyone, and I've had my fair share of learning experiences. Usually track set-ups will cost a lot and you're looking at more and more parts to upgrade.
