My heater is only blowing hot air when I'm driving, when I'm at a stop it just blows normal(cold) air. I've heard of a few other people having this same problem. Does anyone know a solution or why it's happening?

Might Be the Water pump

It could be a couple of things, like above stated it could be the water pump and also check your coolant level.

Coolant level
Air bubble in coolant system
stuck open thermostat

Dunno about the stuck t stat. If it was stuck open he wouldn't have heat till he sat at idle for a while. If it was stuck closed he would be overheating...

Longshot possibility, but I have seen it happen... trash in your coolant system has plugged your heater core. Pull the hoses and backflush it to see if rust and scale comes out.

Also. Look for a collapsed hose in the coolant system and check your rad cap.

yeah i'm doubting t-stat for those reasons as well. it's just weird that as long as i'm at atleast 2-3k, it blows hot air but when i'm idling (~850rpm), its just normal air.

I would pull the two heater core hoses off the back of the head and try flushing the heater core out by itself (turn your heater on full blast of course). That way you arent wasting a ton of coolant if it isnt the issue. But run water through each hose... it should require little to no water pressure to get it to go through.
