Is it just me or has anyone else been getting lower than your normal or average MPGs? It started only a couple days ago where I noticed or feel like I've been getting crappy gas mileage.

For about the past two weeks ive been getting some horrendous mpg. Almost 2-3 less then what I normally get! Ive tried shell, Sunoco AND Exxon and they all have yielded worse then what I normally get. I'm starting to wonder if someone is trying to lowball/nickel and dime us...

Sounds like temp change... First 5-10mins of driving is the worst on the car(cold-start) and should effect your mpg accordingly

its also probably that winter gas season now. oh well. get kpro. lean it out :thumbu:

this is my problem, and since i'm only driving 5 mins to school every day the majority of my driving is in terrible gas mileage mode haha

I get shitty mileage all the time.... No clue why.

25mpg all year round, highway, city, short, long haul. It doesn't matter. :shrug:

ey me too, i almost hit 40 mpg, going only freeway to work ~65 mph the whole way (home and work are next to the 5 fwy)

yay socal? haha

the worst i got was 22, the period where i only drove street short distances

I get about 280ish till I fill up. Still lots better than my neon 200ish then I get gas light

How big is the neon tank? Or is it's mpg really that bad?
I think I'm gonna start driving w/cruise at 60-65 more to see if my mileage improves.

I'm jealous of all you swapped guys getting great mileage and fun. :mfrown:

Best thing to check is the air filter. Replace that every 30k and you'll be good. I went from 24mpg to 30mpg as soon as I replaced the one I bought the car with lol

If you're engine light is on, it could be a number of things. A/F sensor maybe

Could someone convince me to get a warm air intake? (Is that what it's called?) How much mpg improvement, and is there any risk to the engine?

Teach me your ways. I'm stock and i get about 250-280 a tank.

Since i-vtec begins about 2200rpm, i shift to the next gear to where it lands on that 2200rpm. Other than that, drive like how an Si is supposed to be driven. Don't accelerate too slow. I actually went 80mph for 200 miles+ out of 430+ miles since the rest are going to and from school.

oh shoot? no way? i guess i should finally invest in that K&N air filter cleaner. hahaha anything else i could check? possibly clean something in the engine bay or something? but damn.. dont accelerate slow? i thought that was key! and im glad to know that im not the only one that has been getting shitty gas mileage since the weather has changed.

ive also been told that the gas stations change their gas when cold season turns around.

and Kpro is far out of my reach! im so broke!

Last time I drove the EP I got 32+ mpg highway and 27-29 mpg daily to work. Setup:

stock k20a3
rc 440cc
greddy turbo kit w/intercooler
k20z3 tranny

Probably losing on the city mpg cause the z3 tranny makes you go through the gears quicker.

But now that I'm driving my 7 (aka brap brap lol) I get at best 19 mpg lololol. I need the EP back on the road.

10 gallons... lmao I think just about 11 or 12 if you count reserves. Most I got out of that thing was 270 out a full tank but that was shifting at under 2k
