I picked up a pretty legit looking shorty header off eBay that looks like a Megan "inspired design." I want to install it today, but I wold wait till later in the week if heat wrapping would be a better idea. I've seen guys running them without it no problem, but some people swear by them. I just installed an AEM SRI yesterday, and wholly hell the growl is freaking sexy. I want to put this header on too but do you guys think I should wait?!?

Thanks

No. It will increase heat, with a thin piece like that ( i know, I have one) It's just asking for it to crack.

find a local powerdercoater, ask them if they have ceramic. if you're worried about it.

+1 on ceramic coating. I'm thinking of sending my JDM header to swain-tech to be coated, once I get it sand blasted back to tip top shape.

+1 on not wrapping it. Send it to a coater if you want to, but IMHO not worth it for a shorty.

I wrap my obx race headers and been driving it over 2 with no problems and it works pretty good with the heat too. I could tell the difference when I pop my hood before and after.
