What would be the benefits (if any) of a K20A2 head on a K20A3, reason I ask is because I love my car, but I want more power out of it. All I have right now is an AEM short ram and a Greddy EVO 2 catback. Would the K20A2 head make a difference with the extra lobe on the cams and have traditional VTEC?

nah. heard it loses power. plus you need kpro. idk how it runs with a type s ecu or anything beyond that.

From what I've read sort of.....u need k pro for sure to have it run decently. The vtec engagement of the a3 is lower then the a2. Plus since we onle have 5 speeds :( I heard it drops you from vtec. That kpro is a must!

You can run the prb ecu. You will need 310 injectors. You won't get the full potential of the head without kpro. It would be a plus to have k20a2 valve train and a rod and crank swap and also oil pump so you can take it to the higher rpms. Good Luck though.

dropping from vtec isn't a problem with a tune. dont get it twisted with old/wrong info. properly tuned vtec motors only give an audible change during crossover. you're not supposed to feel the cross over.

you can hear how low that engagement is. there is no dip on the dyno graph when its properly set.

honda set crossover higher to sell the vtec engagement as a gimmick in the cars. the vtec enabled motorcycles dont "kick" during crossover either, its set properly.

just an idea. the k20a2 is made for high rev. so putting that head on the a3 will yield little. the a3 crank/rods cannot take that power band. but, the k24a2 has roughly the same rev limit as the a3. so why not use the k24a2 cams in the k20a2 head and put that on the a3? that way the cams are made for the same power range? just a thought, sorry if it doesn't make sense.
