resonator

i bought my car with a magnaflow muffler with stock ep piping already installed..theres a resonator a foot behind the muffler and i was just wondering if that was part of the stock setup or if they put it on when they bolted up the muffler? also if i take off the resonator will it increase flow+add some noise? the muffler makes very little noise as is..i was assuming the resonator was causing restrictions but wanted to see if anyone had any input before i started changing things..thanks- joep

Is it huge and flat on each end, with a tiny pipe going through it?

Not sure on flow, but it will definately make it a little louder.
