Aight ep hatchers need some info on the verdict of upgrading my front bracking setup to acura tl type s brembo calipers and either s2000 rotors or tl types aswell.

Question is can it be done with our bracket or need to replace.?

Also has it been done and can it be done?

Come on ephatch gurus chime in....

i know the type-s guys do it, i don't see why we can't.
Edit:
http://www.ek9.org/forum/brakes/7864-ultimate-oem-brake-upgrade-thread.html

looks like you really just need tl-s everything, rotors, pads calipers and brackets. wont clear 16" wheels. i think thats why i went type-s calipers instead.

Thanks for the reply, and yes i will be using the rsx type s bracket, s2k rotors, and tl type s brembo calipers, i already have abs delete and using the em2 proportioning valve aswell, from what ive read on crsx it can be done and it has but i want input from yall too. This our forum and we need to look for each other and help us out from making stupid mistakes instead of going off on some1 like u did before. Im in the hunt for those calipers rite now and so far i have my eye on 2 sets one priced for 450 and the other 600. Im going to do some junkyard shopping mon and hope i find them locally.

i dont have an exact answer but in the 8th civic community theres one member that accomplished the swap with no problems but needed 25mm spacers to clear the oem rims to fit.

Lucked out on finding a pair of these!

The Brembo part #'s for these are the same as the Integra R's Brembo's.

What part # are you using for the brake master cylinder?

I recommend using the 05-06 RSX-S BMC.

1. For ease of installation
2. Cost of RSX-S BMC vs TL-S BMC.

rsx bmc is 227 new. vs tl type s bmc is 135 new. These prices are from acura catalog.

Just a heads up, the S2000 rotors are 4mm smaller in diameter than the TL-S and DC5R rotors. You will have 2mm of pad hanging off the outside edge of the rotor and will probably develop a nice lip over time.

Also these are not the same as DC5R calipers. These are similar to the the EVO 8/9 caliper, where as the DC5R is similar to the STi/350Z caliper. Pads for the TL are larger, and mounting offset is different.

Thanks for the insight and info u posted. I had read somewhere bout the s2000k rotors and pads issue, also once mounted my wheel I can tell ill need a 5mm spacer for better clearance. What u think I should change out the brake master cylinder?

DC5R piston sizes:

32 mm
36 mm

TL-S piston sizes:

32 mm
38 mm

Also, the TL-S calipers are designed to be mounted on the front of the knuckle, so they are not correct for use on an EP3/DC5 as the staggered piston sizes are now reversed and not working as designed. That is why 8th gen civic guys run the TL calipers.

As far as MC size is concerned, I beleive a stock Type S part will work well with the TL-S, and stock EP3 MC for DC5R. Total piston area of the DC5R caliper is smaller than stock Type S.

Part 2 of barke upgrade.

Well through out the week i received russel braided brake lines, front slotted-n-drilled rotors, and aswell my Brembo calipers back from powdercoating. Took my day off after some afternoon showers and installed all my stuff up front. All needed to do now is just bleed the system and test out the stopping power. Onto the pix, enjoy.
