I've been thinking of cutting up an old AEM cai and running it in the same basic route as the stock route. Improve the intake area and boxing in the filter with aluminum. Insulating the box and tube. Grille area insulated from radiator. Maybe bell up an area in the tube similar to some Formula SAE intakes. Make it about the same length as the original cai. I'm not crazy about the fender well route - it's even hotter there in my desert climate (too low). No battery in the way. Anyone out there with actual experience or knowledge that can chime in?
