I'm doing a braking project for a vehicle's engineering class, and i'm having trouble finding alot of info. I have the service manual that's up on here and that's helped.

1 - Weight: Curb weight is 2740lb, but I need the weight over each axle too. Obviously the front is gonna be heavier, I was thinking like 1600front and 1140rear? (TOTAL guess)

2 - Calipers: I need the piston diameter's of the front and rear calipers, which I cant find anywhere.

3 - Master Cylinder: I also need the piston diameter's too. (I think there's 2, right? A primary and secondary?)

4 - Brake Booster: I need the diameter and boost force...

Nothing has to be too exact, just like a general guesstimate would be good. I've just never really handled anything this in depth with breaking so i dont really know what to guess.

Why you decided to do the project on ep3? Check this out
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/suspension-brakes/62478-brake-options.html
All the info is for 8th gen.. but base front calipers use 02-03 hatch pads and rotors are same size so I guess calipers might be the same. All speculation is for rear brakes as well...same size and pads.
As far as I know weight distribution is 60:40 on ep3.
I hope that helps.

Thanks! Alot of good info on there. I might just do an 8th gen then. It really doesn't matter what car I do.

I think you're right, the EX info on there matches up with everything I have for EP3. Except the pads - why would the front pads be smaller than the rears? (on any car)

because 60-70% of the braking is done by the front brakes

EX's - 10.3"x21mm (F) and 10.2"x0.4" rotors (R)
Front:
37.5 Square CM or 5.81 square inches for each pad
Rear:
20.6 Square CM or 3.19 square inches for each pad

SO rear are smaller than front.Op over 8th gen miss type it.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying lol. The 8th gen post shows smaller pads in the front.

EX/LX/DX Front
37.5 Square CM or 5.81 square inches for each pad

EX/Si Rear
40.2" mm x 71.1mm
20.6 Square CM or 8.93 square inches for each pad

Op over 8th gen miss type it.

Probably a typo, you're right
