I'm taking a metal-working/welding class at my school and I've been assigned a project and it is to make whatever you want, but I have to plan it out, model it, draw it, etc. I'd love to make something for my EP but I have no idea what to make, I was thinking a custom duct that could go straight to my SRI to get some more airflow but does anyone else have a better idea??

I would do a custom metal intake manifold. If you want more airflow just get a CAI. Add some bling to the bay...idk, that's what I'd do

See if you can machine your own shifter cable bushings out of Aluminum, or make a shift knob out of stainless or something like that.

Neither of those should really be all that hard. You pretty much only need a lathe, and a tap/die set, and a drill press. Pretty basic things.

that would be sick. id do a custom spark plug cover or sheet metal intake mani cover

actually all you need is the lathe and a vernier caliper for the shifter/base bushings

the knob might be a bit harder because you need a radius attachment on the lathe...most shops dont have it.

make you're own intake box. or manifold. box is probably easier. model it after the comptech or stock one and have it pull cold air from the lower engine bay. have it use a universal 3" K&N filter on the inside.

maybe have a duct that goes from the grill to the box, instead of behind the bumper.

spark plug covers are nice.

Idle pulley bracket could use a new design with better support?

header?

solid metal motor mounts? (lol)

buddy club short shifter replica.

INVERTED TIE ROD ENDS!? (or some kind of kit to use with stock ends?)

turbo manifold? downpipes? lol

Damn, some great ideas. I like the icebox replica idea along with the spark plug cover and intake manlifold cover. I already got a custom made shift knob, I would possibly sell it if anyone was interested

It's a bit scratched and scuffed but I can polish it tonight and make it look spotless and shiny. Theres a pattern going around, its somewhat heavy also

spark plug covers are pretty fun. i've made 3 of them now. a matching spark plug cover and intake manifold cover would be cool.

I'll try to get some spark plug covers, intake mani cover, and i already got the design/plan drawn up in google sketchup for the intake box thing
