Ok well, once I get this swap in my car, I wanted to put in an Oil Pressure gauge so I could keep an eye on things. I HATE A Pillar pods, so that's a no.. Also, I didn't really know where to post this thread.. I hope this is an acceptable location.

I have seen one picture a long time ago of someone doing this, but I can't even begin to remember where or who it was.. But, this is what I want to do..

Where the red circle is, I would like to relocate the hazard button to there, and put the Oil Pressure Gauge in the current hazard button location so it's closest to me.

Later down the road, if I ever go boost, I would get the frog eyes piece to put the AF/Boost gauges on the steering column.

Yes, that's what I want! Except for a OP gauge, of course.

I wouldint put one there since your not going to be looking down when accelerating, and if anyting goes wrong your light will come on.

For me, I'd put the boost gauge off to the side like where you were talking about, and put the oil pressure right in front of your face. You're going to want to see that one right away incase something happens.

I have the same gauge pod and have my boost gauge in it, but if I ever get the oil pressure gauge I want to get, I'll move them like that.

Hmm.. Well, I don't plan on going boost, but I know it's always a possibility. I don't like the A-Pillar gauge pods, so I would want the frog eyes steering column one down the road if I decide to go boost.

The only one i'm concerned with right now is the Oil Pressure gauge. I like black background gauges, with white letters/numbers.

What options are available as far as gauge mounting in the EP3?

Do they make something like this for the EP?

My step brother has a turbo'd EK Hatch with something similar to this and I like that a lot.

it sucks they don't make the "frog eye" pods for the ep3.

They don't?! I could've sworn I seen someone on here that had it..

Well.. That sucks :/

I'm sure you could retro fit one with a littlebbit of work.

I've got a volt meter in the location to the right of the shifter. The only downside is you can't see the gauge at all when in 5th

This is what I would go with. Also, make sure to get the Greddy oil filter adapter.

This makes it much much much easier to hook up a good electric oil pressure gauge. Trust me, it is worth the cost.

Anyone have a DIY for putting the boost gauge where the hazard button is? I'm not worried about taking everything apart, just the cutting. I could just go at it with a dremmel, but I don't want it to look like crap.

I can understand your hatred for A-pillar pods, but honestly they are the most fuctional if you think about it. I have a triple pod installed on my EP and I don't know what I'd do if my extra gauges weren't positioned there.

I know ricers rock them and fill them up with useless/unnecessary gauges but if it serves a critical purpose (i.e. I have water temp, boost, oil pressure) then I say it's justified to have an A-pillar pod.

I can see all my readouts clearly with just a glance and I don't have to take away my full attention away from the road. I'll get a pic up tonight and post it up for you.

Triple gauge pods are straight up rice! I don't care if my car explodes into a fireball, I'll never have them. Sorry. lol

I understand that not 100% of the people that use them are ricers haha, but still. I just don't like the way they look. They never fit properly, and you have to drill in to the existing trim piece, and it's never the same texture/color as the passenger side trim piece. Then if you ever want to take it off, your old pieces have holes in them.. And sometimes they rattle.. And they just look cheap for the most part. It's more of my own personal dislike than anything haha.

Also, I intend to stay NA.. Eventually turning the DD EP3 in to a mild "track" car once I get out of school and another vehicle to drive.

So for now, just a Oil Pressure gauge is what I would like. If I go boost, AF and Boost gauges will be added. To where? I don't know :(

I feel you there! Well, since you mentioned you're still N/A then I would go with the Autometer steering column pod. I recently purchased one to mount my new AFR gauge and it looks great. Only thing is I recommend using epoxy to keep the sucker on and not the double sided tape autometer provides.

As for drilling and screwing in A-pillar pods, not all installers are created equal, lol. Let me take a pic of my setup for you tonight and you will see that I did not do a hack job of installing my gauge pod.

Autometer made the pod I have installed and the fitment is about 98% spot on if I had to rate it. The ONLY complaint I have is that the edge that runs alongside the windshield is wavy but I can't correct that since the Florida sun warped it for me.

If you don't like the Autometer steering column pod, I think there is the gauge bezel dual pod for our cars, but my opinion is that it blocks too much of the tachometer and auxiliary gauges for me. The steering column pod only covers about the 5-20 MPH part of the speedometer and that's only if you have it adjusted all the way up.

Who makes it and where can I buy it? I am interested at looking in to it.

I found this, but.....LOL @ PRICE:

Honestly, to get that "herra frush kleen jaydee emmm" look, I will never pay ~$280 for a freaking gauge pod. That's how much ONE gauge would cost.

Also, I found this on AutoTech Interior's website:

http://autotechinteriors.com/index.php/products/gauge-pods/epod/honda-civic-epod-2001-2005-52mm.html

Different options you got without having to hack up your center console plastic.

if you take your time and trim the plastic slowly (i used a dremel) then a gauge in the center dash looks (IMO) very clean.
i can see mine fine while driving - just a quick glance to make sure shes @ the proper pressure. i personally dont like the pillar gauge pods unless you need several (boost) to see everything thats going on. if its just 1 gauge - keep it clean.
