With about a 35mm offset? And light? I don't want steel or $3,000.00 Keiser's. 5x114.3.

This if for handling, not for looks. Yes, I understand that the fenders will require work.

Thanks.

With a quick search I found that Kosei K1 used to be made in 16x8.5 +37, also many $$R wheels in 16x8.5 and 16x9.

Yeah, I don't believe Kosei makes the K-1 in those sizes to fit the EP. My choice would be their K4R but, alas. Thanks.

I unfortunately don't know of any affordable wide 6s. I know 949 has 15x9

Xxr has 16x8.25

Not sure of the offsets available for them though. Still not that wide. Good luck and let us know ie always wanted to have 16s wider then 8

Well, so far the lowest priced 6x9 wheel I can find is an SSR at about $600.00. Ouch.

2400 is a lot of money for wheels... Try and find some bbs rs they're like a dime a dozen these days an you can refinish them and add larger lips if you can't find x9

6ul makes 15x9...

email 949racing and see if they're looking into a 16x9

You mean get them re-rimmed? I think they are a bit heavy, aren't they?

I called them about a year or so ago and they have no intention of going with 16s since they are strictly race oriented. I'd also go with their 17x9s eventually but they are 48 offset iirc.

I wanted to get 16x9 to use while my 225s lasted (two are almost new) and start working on some custom flares, then eventually go with 17x9s and R1R 245/35s. I guess I could do 16x8 and use spacers to equal 17x9s for just the fender work. I don't think 16x8s are worth spending too much. Or just say screw it and save for 17s.:mfrown:

its strange, 6ul makes 15's and 17's but no 16's.

these are sexy...

or you should get the corvette wheels.

The Borbets are pretty cool but heavy. I don't imagine the vette wheels are light either, not sure.

I also wouldn't mind a pricey 16x9 (SSR) if there were tires bigger than 225s.

Been away a while.

So, I'm veering off a bit here but what about a 15" wheel? Can a custom 15" wheel fit around the later brakes? Totally opposite of what others would consider but a custom Keiser Kozmo Mark V 15x9" ($525.00) would weigh 10.5 lbs. I'm shooting for around a 24" diameter so a Toyo R888 235/50 with 9.2" tread would be pretty sweet. A lot more tread than on other 16" DOT legal R tires, I think. That would be about 40 lbs. less than my stock wheel/tire setup! Or could a 9.5" width be done?

Yes, I'm a weight whore.

What year EP3 and brakes are you running Hasbro?

I'll be building an '02 for track, so this definitely interests me as well. I'll probably be running a minimum 235 wide. Debating if I should gut the full interior and have a friend help make me a CF sunroof plug.

Edit: Sorry for the little de-rail at the end. I'll stay on topic.

By later I meant the bigger stock brakes, 2004/2005.

I think a 9" tread is a nice size for this car. Just wish I could fit a 10" wheel on that sized tread. I'm of the "1/2-1" wider wheel than tread club". Again, for handling, not looks.

I've partially gutted the interior but have to drive my brother around so have had to hold off on some of the up front cabin stuff, which drives me crazy. There is a ton of useless weight in that cabin. Pull 250 lbs. out of the cabin and front of car and you have a very different handling car.

I'm going to use plastic to replace the moon roof. Like Lexan.

but have you looked into 949s?

I don't know that 949's will fit over 5-lug oem brakes. I have heard that 15" Team Dynamics Pro Race wheels will fit over RSX-S brakes, but that's only heresay. Check over on Club RSX and see what the track whores are running.

949s are four bolt, 4x100, which makes me crazy. A kick ass 15x9 racing wheel, 13 lbs., $189.00. Could they be fitted to 5x114.3, provided the bigger brakes fit?

They don't have the sizes we're talking about.

To create further turmoil, others who have tried to fit 10" wide wheels were going the 17" route. What are the fitting problems? I'm asking because of the R888 235/50/15 having a 9.3" tread width.

So, I missed a few used sales for Kosei 16x8.5, 37 offset. Was looking in the wrong place. Crap. Still searching.

Circle racing makes NASCAR looking wheels in any bolt pattern or size.... If you can handle the looks they can make a wheel, and imo they are great bang for the buck

^ Hey, I heard you were fu*ked. You ok?

Yeah, they weigh about 120 lbs. each. Koseis are 16.2.

Woohoo, I finally found some Kosei 16x8.5s!. They ship tuesday. Been looking for 8.5-9" wheels for a year and a half. 24 lbs. lighter. Will start with my Kumho XS 225/50s, then probably 245/45f, 225/45r. I will shape the fenders according to the tires I settle on. Probably R888s. Light, sticky, wide, a smaller diameter to drop lower without lowering suspension. Any other suggestions

edit; meant RA1s, not R888s.
