im looking to purchase some wheels for my 03 ep3, i have a set picked out and im just wondering if i need anyting else and what kind of tires i should run. the rims are 16'x7 4x100 +40. i know im going to need a camber kit for the rear so i can sit flush, do i need to run any spacers? never stanced anything out before so any help would be great. thanks guys.

how much of a drop?

with those wheels specs unless you run tires wider that 225 you will not need extra camber or a rear fender roll.

I ran 17x8 +40 with HFP Suspension and Alignment Specs on 215/45s no rubbing or rolling.

I'm currently on 235s and getting the rears rolled Friday. No camber kits.(minor rubbing on big bumps)

You will need spacers/stretch on those wheels if going for a "stance" look IMO... & be REALLY low, not ideal on our cars (macphearson strut and crappy geometry and all)

those wheels won't really get you anywhere if you want a "stance" look.
Get some wider wheels with lower offset. Like at least a 16x8
The wheel thread could help you if you are going for a specific look

Here is my car with the same exact specs u said. I have 16x7 Rota Boost +40. Tires are 205/45/r16. No rubbing and no rolling

so obviously when it comes to stance the wider the wheel the better. id say at least a 3'' drop. right now with stock rims im tucked in the rear and pretty low in the front. but id obviously get spacers so i can bring out those rims

16x7, +40 is no where near flush. it's just average i'd say. if you want flush i'd shoot for at least a 16x8, +35. check out the wheel and tire fitment thread and google an offset calculator to help show how much further in or out wheels will sit compared to each other.

to sit flush with that offset and width id say maybe a 25mm spacer

you can also see my thread about the AP1 wheels on an EP3. I am running spacers of that kind to get those high offset wheels to fit "flush"

If you are looking stance look. There are some gold rules.

Drop your atleast 2.0 and get some wide low offset rims with stretch tires. Also get some camber kit for more aggressive fitment. That`s all you need.

Since you have +40 offset wheels, even you run with spacers, is not going to give you aggressive look. You should get at least +25. Thats how it works.
