hey i am kinda new to site, posted here and there a bit but didn't find it to welcoming to women so removed alot of posts. hoping to start again. but then I started looking thru thread searches and came across a very disturbing advertising of Asian women it was like a dating, could be porn, sex site. I am an Asian woman. I love my ep3 but this is just disgusting. I joined the site because i was told it was woman owned. so cool. but does anyone realize these sites may be linked to human trafficking, sexual slavery. I will try to find the advertising again. If I don't I'm sure someone knows about it and will remove it.

i do not understand the point of this thread. okay, spammers do exist and we try our best to get to the threads and delete and remove all threads as soon as possible. apparently, you found one we had missed. so why not PM a mod and we would remove it? not sure what exactly you were searching for that would have resulted in your human trafficking.

next, you say you removed a lot of your posts. i went through and did not see how ":hay:, ??, ?, ???, etc." are contributing to the site. so when i have more time, i will go through and help you do some more cleaning.

you should def. not click on the links. in case you already have, you may want to change all your passwords and run some sort of anti-virus software.

If your referring to the ads along the right hand side those are google ad sense ads... In general (without going into too much detail) these ads are not controlled by the site owners.

Aside from some risqué pictures here and there I don't see anything on this site that is degrading or negative towards women.

Exactly, and those ads are based largely on what YOU'RE Googling. So that makes me wonder what YOU are doing on the internet to make Google think you are interested in human trafficking.

^^ This....its always fun to google different things and see the adds coming up. I googled "camping in an element" and i got adds for basspro and cabellas coming up, then i went looking for apartments for rent in calgary, and now all i have is Remax adds coming up. So maybe check with anyone else you share your computer with to see what they have been looking for.

But that's because ads pick out certain words in pages that were previous viewed or currently viewed. I have never seen it until i clicked on this thread. I search for doctors, car parts etc all day...most of my adds are few new cars and local Dr business practices.

see whats going on here? either you or someone is searching for the things on your computer and inturn the adds are popping up with that information that has been given to it by the stored searches you have already performed.

Oh ok - i did not know this since other sites i am on do not have as much advertising as this one, with pops up every five seconds. But now i understand. I have been researching human trafficking for my work. Not as others have insinuated - again thanks for the benefit of the doubt and all of the welcoming responses about a real concern i have being a woman on a car site. but whatever. I should have pmed a mod or something but it just popped up an really offended me - not unlike 90 percent of the replys i received on this thread. my bad. i should have known better. just being too sensitive since the work I am doing is difficult. i come to car sites like this to get away from that. didn't know i was dragging it with me. I'll just stick to sites that don't do this. since i understand now that you can't prevent it.

Yes that is the one. As far as not feeling comfortable posting here, this thread didn't help. ok I am stupid for not knowing this but you are the only person who treated me with respect for asking a stupid a question. I was merely asking the owner of the site to stop this kind of advertising tracking. since i can't stop my research, then i guess i can expect more of it. not something i want to subject myself to on my down time.

If you're getting "pop ups every 5 seconds" from ephatch, you might have a virus.
As for Google ads about human trafficking being generated due to the research you do for work getting in the way of your ephatch enjoyment.... try deleting your browser history and cookies, that might help stop some of the ads.
