Alright guys. I just bought and installed a Mugen Airbox. I went to put the DC Sports front Titanium strut bar back on and it bumps up against the top of the new airbox...wtf. Anybody else have this same set up or ideas on how to get it to fit right? The bolt holes are only about 1/2" from lining up. The only thing I can think of is to shave the rubber mount bushings for the airbox... 5936

I had no problems fitting my airbox on with the strut bar.

I have both of these as well just haven't installed them yet. Hope I don't have this issue.

wtf. I got mine from a guy on clubrsx. Not sure if there's a difference between the ep mugen box and the rsx mugen box...

Might be a difference. Anybody notice a deep grumble from the box in 2nd gear or is just me?

I have the same issue when I tried to installed my old DC titanium FSTB with my mugen box. The part no.'s are different between the EP3 spec and DC5 Spec Air box's

EP3: 17200-XK2-K1S0
DC5: 17200-XK5-K0S0-B2

One of my good sources told me that the reason why they have different part numbers is cuz the mugen ep box and the mugen rsx box have different size/shaped duct(s)

Yes the rsx has a base and type s mugen airbox. Ep3 has its own airbox. Don't get confused between the 3 different types.

What did you do to solve the fitment issue?

OP, did you ever resolve this issue? I have the same problem as you do. Mugen air box sits too high and the DC Sports strut bar doesn't clear it. I need about another half inch. I wonder if the other guys aren't using the rubber mounting bushings or are using them differently?

Update: Ok for what it's worth:

I went back to the car and removed all 3 of the rubber grommets/bushings. Then set the box back in and did a rough fit. Presto! The DC Sports bar clears the airbox by about 5mm. So I think the guys who said it fits fine may be missing at least the 2 rear bushings.

I'm not comfortable completely leaving out those bushings so may add some other method to cushion, like a tiny section of rubber hose around the securing bolts.

The other thing I'd recommend is to add some self-adhesive felt under the strut bar so that when it rubs against the Mugen box, it doesn't scratch the Mugen box.
