Making a cold air intake!

So tomorrow ill be making a cold air intake. I plain on using 3" piping, do you guys have any advice for me?

Well if you have smog laws in yuma stick with oem untill you save enought to buy yourself a quality performance part. My 2 cents save yourself the trouble.

dont waste your time, you'll probably lose power. buy something legitimate used.

Theres no smog laws where im from. Yeah i understand the whole r&d thing, i just wanted to make something. I have a fun time fabricating parts.
