Where the hell can I get a freaking dash kit for the EP. Some douchbag at Best Buy gave me a 2001+ civic dash kit that wouldn't fit right. He said and i quote "just break off some of the tabs"...tabs, what tabs? And when i asked how I should go about this, he said to "read the instructions". This is my fifth install for myself and countless others i have done for friends...I know what the hell I am talking about.

Then I go to Circuit City, since it was open and close to me, to ask for some advice. They said "you didn't buy the dash kit from here, can't help". Damn bitches!

Where can I get a properly fitting dash kit!

Cost me $15 for the kit (and free installation guide, although their guide is crap compared to Paxie's) plus $5.95 shipping.

Here's the link Metra Dash Kit (http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S-vBKCXygQI8e/ProdGroup.asp?c=11&s=0&g=752)

I know the search function. I tried looking for the scosche one that Paxie mentioned, but no one has it, or even knows about it.

Also, the one from Crutchfield looks like its a universal..at least from the link you gave. I want one that is custom for our car...that will fit the OEM dash. i do not want to hack my dash apart in order to install my HU.

If this helps, the one i got from Best Buy was American International #HON-K809. I'm gonna have to call an installer, I have been to Scosche's website and they don't even mention one for our cars...nevermind a silver one.

OK, point taken either way there is NO I REPEAT ABSOLUTLY NO dash modification required for this kit, fits in nice and smooth (and unlike you I have not installed numerous radios this was my second) however it is black, but I bought a small jar of OEM paint matched paint and it is an exact match, and only paid $7 not to mention it doesn't hurt to have some of this stuff laying around. However if you were going to be so nit-picky you shouldn't have gone to best buy and listened to those rejects in the 1st place. not flaming just stating

Thanks JL anno. Will do.

As a matter of being nitpicky, I don't relish the idea of having to shave a part my dash...ala...Paxie thread. The past cars that I have worked on always had basic DIN size openings. I trusted the guy at Best Buy, I mean I wouldn't get my shit installed there...but I thought he would have given me the proper kit.

Oh well, no harm no foul, I'm calling up Crutchfield tomorrow to order the black one.

The ONLY reason we shaved the dash was beceause there was NO kit out yet, there are a couple of them out NOW. And i did state that in the post.

Speaking of painting the black kit --

Smokincivic, where did you get the matching paint, and how did you apply it? You mentioned it was in a jar -- did you use an airbrush?
