Sup guys.

I'm itching to install my new coilovers this weekend. Unfortunately I still haven't gotten tires for my rims so that'll have to wait alittle longer.:mfrown:
Now with the wheel combination I'm going to be running, I know for a FACT that will need the kits.
On the other hand, if I just stick with my current HFP wheel and give the hatch a decent drop, will I still need the camber kit?
Unfortunately the CFO at home took away my credit card priviledges... she wants to install tile and hardwood floor downstairs next month :mwink:
so for now I can't purchase the kits.

What are you guys' opinion?

ahahah steal the card and get the kit. Its like 150 for both, it will fly right underneath her nose.
hardwood floor is over rated anyways, all kinds of dust

Depending on how low you go, you might only need the rear kits.

Lol but anyway how low are you gonna drop? Anything less than 1" I say you're good. If you do get a camber kit, don't be cheap. Get ingalls or spc, broken camber arms are no fun.

I was going to get SPC for the front and Buddy Club for a RSX-S in the rear.

Or you could try these for the front:

Some people make a DIY front camber kit since its consisted of some nuts and bolts. Nothing you can't find at Home Depot.

do your coils already have adjustable tophats? if not i'd get those. if they do you should be good without the front. the rear would be good to have for fine tuning though

have 1.5 drop for 9 months without camber kit never had problem. But you definitely get tire wear.

Do you have a proper alignment?

Even with an alignment, you would still have camber wear.

Nop. I am sitting on natural camber with just tire balance. I bought a new tires and rims so couldnt really see the defect but I am sure he will have wear.

Even with an alignment, you would still have camber wear.

I'm running -4.5 degrees camber in the rear and have had zero issues with camber wear

I've actually never ran a camber kit on any car I've owned

If your concerned about handling performance, get camber bolts, however a proper alignment will allow for even tire wear, that is if you don't drive in a straight line every single place you go

Over the life of my g force kdw's the inside of my tires had only worn 1/32nd of an inch faster than outside of my tire, and truthfully I lowered my car a tad lower after I had got an alignment, which would have thrown the toe slightly off

Toe eats tires, not so much camber. If you run zero toe front and rear, you should see zero to minimal uneven tire wear unless you're running some ridiculous camber.

This is true. Toe is what eats your tires. I have -2.5 in the rear and had -1.5 in the front and toe within factory specs and my last set of tires lasted well over 20,000 miles.

Got a final question!!

Before I take apart my HFP spring/strut combo... will I need to rent out a spring compressor? Or can they be done without? The struts that are on there now have been on since the car was born... so about 93K miles ago.

You could get them off without the spring compressor if you step on the spring as you pop off the tophat but you're gonna need it to get the springs on your new shocks.

If it's like the stock suspension, you don't need the spring compressor. There's very little preload on the spring. But you will need a buddy to step on the spring a bit when putting it back on.

But you can rent it at autozone for "free" to be safe. (pay $60 to rent for 90 days, they give you back the $60 when you return it)
