Throwing both codes on a 02 civic si

Checked wiring
checked fuses (underhood 30's and 40's and underdash. #6 and another i forget)
replaced primary o2 with denso oe replacement from k series parts.com

tried to clear cel with removing negative terminal from the battery and taking out the #12 fuse.

Cel comes back about 1 minute after i turn the car back on.

Do i need to take it to a dealer?

Code p1166 is Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System Electrical
Code p1167 is Primary HO2S (No. 1) Heater System

From what I have read it can be the o2 sensor and that the universal ones dont work Bosh etc etc do to it being narrow band not wide band. It has to be oem from dealer. Although the o2 sensors have there own codes when bad others are stating it worked. I also read that it could be blown fuses intake wiring. Hope this helps. What kind of o2 sensor you put on.

Ive checked all the fuses that people say blow and throw that code and they are all good.

intake wiring is something i have not checked.
can this code be thrown because of a bad air filter?

It may be that the replacement oxygen sensor is bad. Find out if there is a warranty on the part and see if they'll gt you a new one.

yeah i actually saw that thread before, i just cant make heads or tails of it. i guess i am going to have to go through all of my wires and make sure they are all connected correctly. even though i have no idea where they all lead. I feel like i might just take it to honda.

I dont have k pro or a aftermarket exhaust so....

in that other thread are they saying wires came out of the connector going into the ecu or somewhere else?

I can pull a motor any day of the week, screwing around with the wiring harness im about as useless as they come

if I understand what you're asking, then i believe they are talking about the connector being plugged into the ECU. The wires go from that connector through the fire wall. So he's saying to unplug the connector from the ECU in order to test the continuity between certain wires that pass through the fire wall... I hope that answered your question :-)

Im sorry i worded my question wrong.
Later in the thread in the comments people say that a wire fell from a connector and that is what is causing the short.
The wires go into the connector that attaches to the ecu.

My question is can i find these wires by looking at the connector behind the ecu

quote from the different board: found I had a bad connection on 1 of the 4 wires on the (harness side) connector for the o2 sensor fixed & it datalogged for about 2-3 hrs with no issues.
I dont know where the connections are that he is talking about.

oh ok...yeah, I think he's talking about one of the connector's on the ECU.
