ball joint saga continues..... Looking for specific Moog ball joint part number you guys have used on the ep (moog #K90493). Yeah, screw the dealer I'm installing moog's. I just want to verify the part number you guys have had success with. I searched for 02-04 dc5 ball joints but rockauto didn't have a moog listed for the dc5. #K90493 is only listed for the 2.0 si and not any other civic ; dx,lx,ex etc... Just trying to find the best fit moog for the ep3

appreciate it fellas..

All 01-05 civics (including EP3) and all 02-04 RSX have the same ball joints. Only the 05-06 RSX is different. When my ball joint went out, I just got one from autozone. Cost me $20 and still looks good a year later. I think the autozone ones are moog but I'm not sure :mconfused: If you want some performance ones then look into the buddy club or hardrace extended ball joints. Just don't buy the ones for 05-06 RSX or DC5 Type-R, they will not fit.

Auozone are duralast ball joints. I'm too lazy to find the MOOG ball joints parts number, but the cheapest ones I have found are located on Amazon for 47 shipped a piece.

I would say just get the autozone ones if you want a stock replacement. You can't beat $20 a pop. I know some duralast parts are iffy but the suspension parts are all OEM quality. Not sure what the actual brand is but I know when I bought my ball joint it had "made in japan" stamped on it.

Really? Can't find it. Link it up. The only Honda OEM ball joints require the purchase of the knuckle which is $200 + shipping EACH.

I also use rockauto.com for parts. Great site.

I wouldn't recommend the moog though, they are greasable and that zerk fitting touches the tone ring for the abs on the axle.

Look into some deeza ball joints instead..

I'm in need or replacing my ball joints too and was wondering if anyone has used the Buddy Club or Hardrace joints and if they are any good? I figure if I have to replace them I might as well upgrade :-p

K90493 is definitely the correct part number, and for what it's worth, the MOOG ball joints will be superior to Duralast and even OEM Honda. The reason is that the Moogs are knurled in the area in which presses into your knuckle, and they also have a locking c-ring which the OEM and Duralast do not. My shop sources MOOG parts from many suppliers, O'Reilley's, Advance auto parts, and Auto Value. After calling around, you should be able to buy them for under $50 each. That or if you are lowered, step up and get some roll center adjuster ball joints like hardrace or j's racing.

As far as the duralast, this is not true. My duralast ball joint came with the locking ring

Can the 07 Accord ball joints be used in our knuckles? And can they be used in 02-04 RSX-S front knuckles? I have the type s from a 5 lug swap. http://www.afhparts.com/oe-honda/51220sda305

OK after a bit of research I found out that you can replace your ball joints with OEM parts, without buying the whole knuckle. EM2 ball joints are the same, so just buy OEM Honda em2 ball joints. em2 ball joint Part# 51220-s5a-305 http://www.afhparts.com/oe-honda/51220s5a305?search_str=51220-s5a-305
