hi,

is this worth it? its for my "female friend"... originally her budget was $2,500 but she really wants to get an ep3.

the guy is selling it for $6000... 2002 civic sir... with 188,000km
but managed to bring it down to $5,400... also $5,700 with new winter tires. safety & emission will be included.

she's not going to modify it or anything. its for her daily commute to school.

please reply when you can because she's about to pick it up tomorrow!!!

Looks ok, but i would look it over in person a take it on a multi level test drive. Do a little bit of every thing with it.

Price isnt bad for the milage, just check underneath for any rust or corrosion. Also check the cams for galling

+1

But, what do they normally go for in your neck of the woods?

It looks like the car was just listed and I'm sure the sellers wants to see what kind of offers he/she will get. If possible (esp bc its way outside her budget) I would see if its still available after a few weeks. KBB says that an 02 with ~120000 miles is worth around $5-6.5k.

She doesn;t want a specific color at all?

not really, but if she did, it would be silver.
i've test driven it... and the steering was still stiff. but still easy to move... i dont remember how a stock is supposed to feel... since ive gone through... tein lowering springs to HSD coilovers. so far... this is the cheapest ep3 that are on sale for now. i saw a white one for $8,500+ for 105,000km 2002. converted to the jdm bumper and full mugen body kit!!! but fack!!! its already sold! and waaay over her budget. i would have traded mine for it. darn it! i was just gonna post up the link for it. anyways, i didnt see any major rust... it was pretty clean... although the engine could need some cleaning up. there was a dent on the front bumper and a few scratches from flying rocks. but other than that, i thought it was a swell car. i was just concerned about the high mileage for that price.

Prices for EP3s seem to be all over the map. I bought my 2003 3 months ago for $6500 with 93,000 km (about 60K miles) on it. It's a GFX car but was missing the skirts (stolen) plus it had a small scratch/ding on the rear quarter, and tons of stone chips on the hood and bumper. It had a $3500 front-end accident (no structural damage to the bumper supports, rad support, or fender rails) when it was a year old that was fixed by Honda, but was otherwise a clean, one owner car.

Car`s price is twice of her bucket. I personally wouldnt buy a car like that. We all would like to see new members but my advice is her to get something for her bucket if she doesnt have that money. She could get much better ep3s few years laters.
