Hey guys, I'm new here...but I've been reading the board for about 2 months now...Anyways, I'm about to buy a new SI and I was wondering what your opinions were as far as buying an 02 versus an 03. (pros/cons etc.)

I am about to get one of the remaining 02's from Community Honda for $14995.

Should I buy one of the remaining 02's? Let me know what you think. Thanks, Brian

Could be a typo but since it is on print, you might get an 03 for the same price.

If it is an 02, just offer $200 more for an 03 and see if they bite.

The 03 as you probably know, has a new laser wave cut key and green heat rejecting glass. And the blue color which doesn't appeal to me in person when I saw it. It looks good in photos though. But that's just personal opinion.

Other than that, who knows what else Honda changed that we do not know off. But it is safe to assume 03 will be equal if not better than 02 since 02 is the first year.

welcome to the site... as far as the si goes, i'd try to get the 03 now(unless they offer u a killer deal on the 02). only a few minor changes for 03 so if u do end up getting the 02 you're not missing out on much-unless you want the VBp color:)

i was in the same predicament. i was actually going to buy an '03 EX, then i saw the Si and asked them about it, they gave me a price of 16,000 for an '02, the '03 EX would have run me 17 or more. They weren't bending the '03 price cause they needed to get rid of the '02s before Jan. 1. If price isn't that big a deal, get the '03 Si, but i saved a bunch per month (about $75) by getting an '02 Si. and i'm still happy as a pig in shit with this car... :D

Hey guys, thanks for the welcome and the replies.

I looked at that ad last week and called about it and at that time the ad was for an 02...but as you (Hamproof) pointed out (I just looked) it does say 2003 now! Well, I guess I'll be calling on that right away!

Hey! Anyone interested in my 1990 Si?...lots of mods and new replacement parts etc. (I have current pics if you want them)

Let us know how it turns out. I don't see how they will sell the 03's for that price, but if they do, they have another customer! In fine print it says offers expire 48 hours after publication. So unless this ad was just posted under 48 hours ago, they don't have to accept the offer.

Here's the low down thus far:

1. The ad was a misprint (I called about it) (Community Honda)

2. That price ($14995) is only on remaining 2002's

3. Price does not include the destination charge of $460

4. Of these remaining 2002's there is only one left as of today

5. I was ready to buy one but they no longer had any black ones (yet they did have two on tuesday)...only one silver one left.

6. Went to www.wildehonda.com. They are advertising 2002's for $15999 including destination charge.

7. Bottom line...I'm buying a remaining black 2002 for $15999 + tax from Wilde Honda (I bought my wife's 2001 EX there 1 year ago for a great price too!)

8. What do you think?

9. Best pricequote so far on a 2003 is $17800 + $460

Who did you talk to at Community?
They had 2 02's left at the start of the week and they were both Silver.

I purchased my Si at Community and it was off or advertised price. Tax, title and license and doc fee are the only added costs.
It even states this in the print at the bottom of the ad.
I do not know why they gave you the BS about having to add in the freight cost.

The 03 part of the ad was a misprint, second time it has happened.

I am going to contact Community and find out what is going on about this freight thing. Even though you decided on Wilde I will post what I find out in case anyone else is looking for an Si.

K20A3, Thanks for the reply.

I talked to Joe Galante. on Tue. and at that time he said that there was 2 black ones and one silver one.

When I called him back today he said that there was only one silver one left.

I guess I don't know what to think?

I'm so used to my 1990 Si that I'm currently having doubts about the new one...not to brag, but my 90 has an extremely strong motor in it. It runs awsome! (stock = rated at 108hp...my ass!...it's gotta be more than that!)

At this time I have not yet purchased it it's just on hold...while I decide weather or not I want it. (I'll probably get it though)

...the dilema continues...

The price of $14,995 includes freight, and excludes tax, title and license. There is ONE silver one left at this time.

If you decide to go with Community please email me so you can get my name and tell them I sent you. I want to hit them up for a discount on something.

K20A3, Thanks for the research, however I really want a black one, so I've decided to get the one at Wilde.

Also, A friend of mine at work wants one too (white)...and now we might even trade in my wifes 2001 EX for a 2002 or 2003 EX just for the 1.9 APR if they give us a good deal on the trade!

I'll let you know what happens!

Like k20 says, the $14995 should include dest. and if you are paying $15995, you are essentially paying $1000 to get black instead of silver.

If it was me, I'll take the $1000 and get 1) decent 17" rims or 2) Exhaust + (2a) Radar Detector Valentine 1 (2b) MP3 Headunit etc.

Just my humble opinion. $1000 is a lot of money for a color.

I agree, and not to sound like an a$$, but I happen to be the type of person that either gets what he wants or won't get it. And besides, $1000 at 1.9 APR for 60 mos. is only about $17. I think I can handle that.

As far as the rest of the stuff, I"ll use some from my 1990 Si and pay for the rest with the sale of it.

Audio stuff??? I'm in the business, so sky's the limit.

Get the color you want or your regret it everyday you approach your car to get into it :(

I have silver and like it, I've own a black car and it is only clean for about an hour after it's washed then it is dusty, the silver looks clean even when it's dirty :p

Hey, I hear ya! All I've ever owned is black...they're a pain to keep clean. (but look sooo awsome when they're clean!)

My 97' GS-r is black, my 90' Si is black...and before that I had a 93' Probe GT that was black...and prior to that was a black 90' Beretta GTZ.
