A/C Compressor is out and a weird noise

Hey guys my A/c compressor is shot and there is a weird noise coming from my pulleys/ serpentine belt.When the compressor goes is there generally a strange noise in that region?

Any help will be great. Ill post a video later of the noise.

additional info. Car idols normally and drives ok.

Man my ac compressor just went out about 2 weeks ago too. It sucks driving in this heat. My car does also make a different noise though.

near the serpentine belt? kind of like a dry non oiled pulley?

Near the serpentine belt definitely. As for the sound, I don't know how to describe it. Does your sound occur while your A/C is on only? Or while it is on and off?
