Its that time of the year again. How do i pass smog with my kpro? The reason i ask this because i had a cel on my old ecu. Its that pn420 code or something. Now that i have the kpro i erased the cel. Do i just go to a smog station? Or do i have to do anything like change the sensors? Im in california btw so as you can see smog is a bit hassle for us.

I think you mean p0420 ... if it p0420 then its either your cat or secondary o2 sensor. How many miles do you have on your ep?

the ep is stock now. No more jrsc just cai, kpro and stock rsx s exhaust. The car has 135k miles. Is there a program in kmanager to make the ecu look normal in the obd reader that the smog station has? No cel light btw because of the kpro Thanks.

clear DTCs, disable DTCs, then set readiness outside of the inspection shop. I've passed smog twice with Kpro & JRSC. Lots of info on this on clubrsx.com and hondata.com. good luck!

You were throwing a P0420 code before, right? So it sounds like you may have a bad primary or secondary oxygen sensor... or a bad cat. I'd personally start with replacing the oxygen sensors which will probably cost around $200-$225 if you swap them in yourself. Not too hard of a job as I'm sure you are aware. What mods do you have left after removing the supercharger? Are you running a custom or base map in Kpro?

The ep is completly stock besides the rsx exhaust i have base stock map right now. Yes i have a po420 before im going to try to do a bit of tuneup to see if its ok. The smog report says the 02 sensors are good. Its just a lil hight on the numbers. You think a lean tune will do the trick? Thanks men.

Thanks beechstreet, i also have a used cat that im trying to buy so maybe ill do this cat converter first and move to the o2 sensors. the Obd2 readers says the o2 sensors was in good condition so i think it could be the cat.

Failed again after I had the kpro in close loop and a lean map. If i put the kpro ns close loop that means i wont need the secondary o2 defouler then? or would it is till help. Everything passes but the NO is a bit high by 200 points.
