Just got my depo projectors from moonsi in last week. Before I get them installed, I want to replace the amber bulb in my 2003 SI with a "chrome" or frosted bulb that flashes amber.

What size do I need, and has anyone done this before and would they recommend a certain bulb mfgr? I know when I did this for my porsche 944 turbo, I bought the OSRAM diadem clear bulbs that flashed amber. Personally, I would rather spend a few extra dollars to get good bulbs, then getting the cheapest possible.

Any recommendations?

So if I went with a LED style bulb, would it need a relay to stop it from blinking super fast (or slow)? Or would it just work at the correct blinking speed?

I don't know if this is a stupid question but can you run hids in the depo headlight projector without any issues?

@torquetc ... I just ordered from Moonsi yesterday and would be anxious to know what you end up with and if it works (will subscribe to the thread). I've also got clear reflectors on order right now for my front bumber to replace the amber ones.

@tht1guy ... from what I've read lately about it, some people are doing it straight yes with various kits. Others recommend that you buy tsx reflectors and use those. Personally I am very nervous about being one of those d*bags that blind people, so what I might do after my depos arrive is try a kit sometime, and if it looks bad I can order the tsx reflectors. Some people have also mentioned there are better quality HID kits than others, but I don't know if that makes a difference to the way the light comes out or not (some sort of shielding on the bulb? anyone know more?)

I really wouldn't know.

To run HID's you need to buy the X-clips.
