Hey guys,

My poor 04 Si is finally starting show it's age. I was driving and I pressed the driver power window to put it down and then something popped and the window just dropped. It will not go back up haha.

Anybody know what could be the problem? Is it the regulator? When I press up and down I see the cables moving so I think the motor is fine.

It's probably your window regulator. Just replace with a new one and it will work again.

Yup. Change the regulator. The wire probably snapped. Easy replacement.

This exact shit happened to me!
it was the window regulator.

.but now i started having problems with my passenger side window.
but this time its not the window regulator...

Might be the regulator itself.. It's probably going out..

mmm.... nope NOT the regulator...
ive tried a NEW oem window regulator, and still does not work!
its definitely a wiring problem...
because my mechanic checked it out with his "electrical pokey thingy majigg" and
he said an aged wire might have been loose somewhere.
i shook a wire somewhere and somehow my old regulator worked.
there were moments when it worked, but there were moments that it didn't.
So i just took advantage of the moment to close it.
but now it wont even open up.
i stopped fuckin' with it, just incase it wont close back up again.

...but now im not sure how to replace it or even what to replace and where to get it. :(

Kind of a late response, but it may be the plastic window retainer that finally broke. I have actually seen this more so than faulty window switches. The window is supported on the track by 2 hard plastic brackets. As with all automotive plastics exposed to time and temperature fluctuations with the weight of the glass itself, the plastic brackets will eventually break. I dont know that they can be purchased individually as I was never able to get a part number. But they are pretty easily obtained from pretty much any Honda window from the mid 90's and newer. Each one is bolted to the regulator rail by a 10mm bolt and the glass simply rests in the groove (on the EP at least)
I was able to get a friend to cut me out a set out of aluminum although a little resourcefulness can have a set made up with sone aluminum strap from Lowes or Home Depot and some simple torch work and a drill bit.
I hope this helps somebody out.
