View Full Version : Interesting thought on the painted headlights idea.

Check these links out and tell me what you guys think. I like the idea of a black headlight housing, but the JDM headlights are actually a "smoked chrome" right? You reckon these spray on window tints might create that effect on the chrome housing in our headlights?

Just thinking too much maybe, but just maybe a good idea...

I think it might look good, but are you willing to risk your headlights to find out. I don't think I could do it.

You are talking about spliting the housing and painting the chrome surface right?

yea, there is a tutorial on how its done here on this site and they turned out great. I have seen several rides so far and noone has complained yet. I guess the only thing I would worry about is moisture build up.

Might have to get some of this tint stuff and test it out on some old chrome parts somewhere.

I have the model spray tint that I used on my side markers. Maybe I can find something to test it on.

Ohh, ok, model spray tint for the side markers. I had been wondering about that for a while now.

I take it that other paint, like Honda's touchup paint, won't let the markers shine through?
