View Full Version : So my friend got an Evo..
And, for shits and giggles, I said i'd run my EP3 against him.. Evo 8 has some mods and made 325 to the wheels on a Mustang dyno, my EP3 has the TSX motor with the z3 head and just a street/e-tune. I wasn't planning on winning, it was all for fun, so we decided to do it from a dig (obviously not in my favor, I wasn't planning on winning anyway..) So we go out to a country road, get ready, I rev up to about 4,000 and slip the clutch until it starts to lurch forward and I let go of it, then..

Glad I bought another car to drive in the winter.
I'm surprised this happened with street tires on a relatively cold night (50's).. Anyone have another set of Axles laying around?

good excuse to upgrade to the DSS DC5R axles.
I don't got a lot of cash right now. Probably just gonna look for used OEM replacements are the Autozone lifetime warranty ones.

No not at all haha.. That's why I was scratching my head. It was literally accelerating at like 4.5k then it felt like it just went to neutral and I heard a clunk haha. Got a new one with a lifetime warranty for $70.
No biggie

I'm thinking about SC'ing it sometime relatively soon. I don't see much justification in dropping $550 on a tune with it all motor right now when I have it running pretty good as is ad definitely on the safe side (it's a bit rich).
Some more street tuning should fix that tho.
