whatsup fellas,

I know there's quite a few threads on clutches, but nothing really pinpointing the daily commuter.

I drive around 900 miles a week back and forth to work. My ep has 130K and is in need of a new clutch.. I've decided its no race car and I need it as a reliable DD.

Anyone have any suggestions of a replacement clutch? NAPA has OEM replacement for around 275$ and that includes everything. Would that be my best bet? I can have it all said and done for around 500$ installed.

Whats your opinion?

Thanks!

I def liked the Exedy stg 1 clutch, feels like oem but grabs pretty well. And if you decide to throw a little exrta power at it you wont have to worry about the clutch failing . Longevity I think my buddy got 50k out of his stg 1 but he was also a full bolt on k20a2 and he did ocassional drag racing sessions on dr's during the weekend haha.

Right now I run an ebay f1 clutch in my dd ep3 and I havent had any problems, and I think it has about 60k on it. So in my opinion I think a napa replacement is fine.

I would get the OEM Exedy clutch, its cost effective and works just great. If you wanted to go the next step up you could, but it wont be any difference for you.

you dont have any crazy mods? Supercharger,Nitrous, extreme build..your not breaking over 190 whp.

^x2 stage 1 is the way to go. Make sure you take it to a repitable shop too.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback. Only engine bolt-on I have is a K&N typhoon intake, which I plan on switching up soon anyways. Sounds like ill just go with the NAPA clutch!

I found this

Will this be all I need?

The exedy oem is a good deal though. About $100 on amazon...if its your daily. Plus you know the company unlike whoever makes NAPA's replacement parts

Pick up a type s flywheel and get a stock k20a2 clutch. I had a type s clutch on my 240whp k24 and it lasted 30k with that motor and 20k on my 220whp k20. Never failed or slipped. Although tires and axles were always my weakest point.
