Driving to a friends yesterday in the snow, totally stopped and a Honda Pilot rear ended me. Insurance adjuster is supposed to come tomorrow, I can't see a reason for them to total the car, unless the labor quote is insane - and in that case, watch for a part-out thread haha.

I'm fine, the impact was under 10mph, her truck has a scratch on the bumper. Great way to start the new year!

I agree. People are so fucking stupid. Yesterday at work i watched some idiot in accord turning out of my resteraunt driving to fast just to do a 180 on the road. Then a pt cruiser t bone a suv on a complete straight. In these conditions if everyone drove 10-15 mph with a 3 - 4 car length with the car ahead of u, no accidents would happen. But dumb fucking people drive like its sunny with 90 degree weather

I had a truck that popped out of gear in a parking lot and rolled into my car. P-brake was broken. very similar damage to why you have. Almost identical. Cost the truck owner $2700.00 to fix.

Sorry to see this happen to you homie. I'm not liking the fact that the hatch is bent. I hope the unibody tweaked. Sorry dude.

Yup!

Honestly if I need new tails I'm going to make an attempt to have the body shop install the 02/03 ones, they just look so much better.

I think people should be IQ tested before they are handed a drivers license. That or they should be forced to go through a Gran Turismo-like license training program. Hooray for new car shoppin?

I think Forza would be better. LOL
I agree though. Some people are careless about weather conditions.

The insurance company would never pay for a "pair" of tail lights when only one is broken. You will get a aftermarket replica of the Honda part. Sad but true. I had to fight tooth and nail to get a new rear hatch, that only wanted to pay to have it repaired and bondo'ed smooth.

I know the body shop, so I'm hoping it's not a major ordeal to get a new hatch.

Hmm with my insurance company i got to choose to get oem and just pay and cost difference, But at the end of the day i got a pair of depos for less than one oem headlight lol.

That's because you were paying for it. They don't care if it doesn't cost them extra.

Thats no good, Seems like people have no clue how to drive in the snow, and it was the first big storm of the year right? What was the final damage?

This is terrible, this car is so rare now so I hope you can get it back on the road in acceptable condition.

can't after the estimate, you get a check so that you can go buy the stuff yourself? unless the estimate price doesn't include oem.

Go in there and demand you want all OEM new parts. I used to work at a Honda Collision shop and they always skimped out to save money. They will do it, you just have to prove a point. Plus the aftermarket tails for our cars are complete shit. Good luck!

Sorry - I'm not getting the "notification by emails" for this - any idea mods?

Took it to the shop Thursday afternoon - I'm expecting a phone call today or tomorrow, the car was "$1500 away from being totaled" but when they start tearing it down, they may find that extra $1500 in damage. If that's the case, I'll buy it back to part out. If not, I should have it back in like 10 days.
