Here goes!

K24a1 Bottom End (Stock)
K20a2 Head (Port and Polish, Stock)
Skunk2 Intake Manifold (Port Matched)
Skunk2 Throttle Body (Port Matched)
Custom 3" CAI
Kpro (obviously)
750cc Injectors
k20a3 trans w/ stage 3/4 clutch & flywheel

And here's the good part!
Greddy t517z 8cm2/10cm2 Turbo
Sidewinder t3 header
Custom 3" downpipe leading into a Greddy Evo2 catback exhaust system (may change to a 3" straight pipe)

Goals:
320-340 hp
280-300 tq
I'm thinking a 7200 or 7500 Redline with a 3500 vtec engagement

Feel free to add/suggest more! This is a rough draft, but I think I'm getting it fairly well.

To handle that much hp/tq would I need to upgrade my trans? At least the synchros?
Going to get motor mounts too, do I need Hasport EP3 mounts? (maybe not hasport but i'll probably go with hasport)
Should I go ahead and do head work if I get them port and polished (cams/springs/retainers etc..)? Or if I want to keep the stock cams should I just upgrade everything else?

Again, put some input in and let me know! This is just a rough draft!

Nice. Would you build al at once? Or build the engine and drive it until you piece the turbo together? Why not just go k24a1?

Yep all at once, my A3 is still in good condition and I'm gonna ride it out as long as it'll let me. I'm pretty sure the a1 head has the same vtec as our a3 head and doesn't have as much lift as the k20a2 or k24a2.

if it were my build, here's what i'd change:

1. don't waste your money on the junk2 mani and TB. get an RBC and either a hybrid TB or portmatch an oem one.
2. i'd just go for a low mileage k24a2 and drop it in as is. i feel like you could make the same power without having to worry about modifiying the long block at all

what are you doing in regard to suspension/tires/brakes to support 300+? that should be the first thing you do. gotta be able to corner and stop before you can go fast..

I agree with the k24a2 seeing as how they come with forged pistons as far as I know. Maybe I'm wrong. Someone more knowledgeable please chime in. Plus they're cheaper and more mmore torque!

f20c and f22c had forged pistons from the factory. pretty sure the k24a2 didn't

Well the k24a1 is cheaper from what I have seen, ranging from 500-800 for a complete motor while the k24a2 ranges from 1000-1500.. Especially the 2006-08 ones. The increased hp/tq is nice but since I'm not maxing out either motor the A1 is cheaper and will get me my goal while being reliable. If it were an all motor build I'd say a2 but even that guy that posted his stuff on facebook made 320 hp 280 tq on an all motor a1 and since I just want a little more than that but instead going turbo I think the a1 is definitely the right choice.

a k24a1/k24a2 frank will easily get you the power you want. guardian made 500+ on a stock internal a1/a2 frank

if you go that route just bolt the block and head together and leave it alone. porting and what not isn't going to matter unless you're building the motor and making big power.

That's what I like to hear!! lol you're right, I've seen stock k20a2's make 500hp and I've seen good numbers from frank set ups too. But since I don't want 500 my goal will easily be met. Do you think the trans would need to be upgraded if I had the hp/tq I'm looking for?

Dont worry about doin the headwork. For those numbers you will be fine. The trans will be able to hold that power with no problem.

Cool cool.. Anyone know what kind of power difference I would get if I just used a complete k24a1? I mean, I'd still be making similar power it just wouldn't rev as high?

Either way you go it should all make the amount of power you want, if money is an issue I'd go with stock K24A1 and leave 5-speed, k24A2 will run you much more expensive.

Yea I mean the A1 is my top choice I also thought about going JRSC +meth injection instead of going turbo

With stock k24A1 and turbo, u can run 300 hp safely with no issues if tuned properly! It's a good strong motor, basically like our k20a3 but stroked which also handles boost quite good. With k20 head it's gonna be even more fun, little higher redline limit + actual VTEC and still gonna be on the safe side when tuboed, but again I gotta stress on on the proper tune!!! It all depends, there are a lot of choices, and it is up to you to decide...

Well I'm probably going to do that to be honest, the a2 head is an extra 600$$ so it'll probably have to come later. I guess I would need to get the k20a2 oil pump? Or would that be necessary?

Stock k24a1 motor will work fine. You can safely make 300 on it with a good tune. The oil pump will be fine, but wouldnt hurt to upgrade it.
