I came across an ad in Honda tuning for these Coilovers. The price makes them interesting, but is it a good investment? $369. I'm leading towards swift springs, because of their linear stroke. I don't want a bad ride quality to save a few bucks. Any personal experience?

Not personally but people should have lots to say about them, I've only heard negative things about them and to stay away.
People with personal experience should be chiming in, good luck. I just went with the A-Spec suspension.

Do you love dead orphans, communism, full-blown AIDS, Oprah 24-7, & shop at Wal-Mart? If yes, you'll love Racelands.

I had em for about a year and they were ok for the first 6 months but after that they kept falling apart, clunking, leaking oil, etc. I'd save your money and buy some real coilovers

If you can live with clunking and bad ride quality, you should be content with racelands. I had them for over two years and lived with those problems day to day. If I were to do it all over again, I would not get them .

If $369 is your budget then just go on ebay and find a used DC5-R suspension....assuming that you're looking for function

If poeticfinesse21 didn't tell me about those A-Spec's I would have bought something I wouldn't have been happy with.
Thanks again poetic...

Maybe I'm the only lucky one who hasn't had any problems with them.. My personal experience: They're not a bad ride quality, no leaking, no clunking, drop looks great, I got em when they were like $200 or $250 or something lol. Most people don't push their EPs on the track, I know I don't, I dd mine so choosing these over something functional compared to BC or something serious was just a financially smarter decision for me. I've had em for 2 years now, no problems like most others. Buyer beware kinda thing I guess.

Thanks for the info everyone. I dd the hatch and autocross. The responses were basically as anticipated. Just wanted to confirm the racelands were to good to be true. Im leaning towards BC Coilovers. I've heard good things about them for the price.

i bought my BCs used and have had them for a thousand miles or so. ride quality is good with the dampening set up for it. they handle pretty well too.

I'm gonna order BC coilovers with the swift spring upgrade next week. BC will do it for $1370 shipped. I'm all about swift springs and it seems like BC is a good product. Anyone using this setup that can give me some feedback?

Nice choice what spring rates?

I'm thinking 8k Front / 9k Rear. That's based on the average of street vs track rates that I've seen from most company's producing coilovers. I want a linear, predictable shock, even at full compression, and a smooth one for daily driving. That said, I'm wondering about 6k/8k. Anyone have experience with both 6/8 and 8/10 that could describe a difference? I'm sure there is a write up somewhere on coil rates...

Your rates aren't that great. Most of the rates for coilovers were poorly researched and didn't consider the "special needs" the EP3 and DC5 requires. To put it bluntly, the suspension design sucks. There are a ton of threads to research our suspension on here, CRSX, CEP3, Honda-Tech. I, and others here, can direct you to info for whatever you need. You definitely can build a really nice handling EP, it just takes a good design.

As Zzyzyx would say, what specifically do you want to do with the car?

Suspension preferences can be hard to suggest as everyone has diifferent expectations. Read these for starters and throw some questions at us.

Oh, and Racelands are absolute shit if you want to build a performance suspension. That's not what they're made for. But for those who want to tool around lowered on the street they seem to fulfill the owner's needs. I mean no offense intended towards those owning Racelands.:mangel:

Man, what a goofball. I forgot all about SHG_EasyE. He actually tested the prototype for that coilover for the DC5/EP3. You could pm him over on HondaTech or from his ad here; http://forums.clubep3.com/showthread.php?t=951369 Those are still available....and well beyond better than new. If those are too much for you he would still give you THE best advice on what to get.

if you dont track very often I would say 10kF and 12-14k rear.
I have RSDs and I think they are12k F and 16k R. It hurts my vagina every time I hit a bump.
