I did some winter maintenance on my 04 ep3. I installed a Nuespeed SS, solid shifter base bushings, solid shifter cable bushings, innovative motor mounts, RDX injectors and Mtec shift springs.

Got my car back on the ground and ive notice that I can't go in reverse and the computer tells me I'm always in 1st. I'm pretty sure it's something to do with the Mtec shift spring install I did. The hole shift assembly did spring apart but i took my time and i thought i got it back together right.

Any ideas where exactly I went worng?

seems like you def put it back incorrectly. this might sound silly but, did you put your cables back correctly? i ask because i have the MTEC springs in my trans and i made sure i put them in the same way the OEM ones came out and i had no issues with it at all

I assume you have the manual for the install? If not it's here: http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?62770-EP3-Helms-shop-manual-for-FREE!
I only ask because once you take everything apart, and may be tricky to know how it went together. I did the change over on mine from 5 to 6spd and the spring baffled me for a min.
