I found on Craigslist a k24a1 complete with intake mani, exhaust, injectors, fuel rail and coil packs. It has 100k miles on it. Afer talking to him he will sell it for $400! The guy said he swapped it out for a customer because there was a small crack where the oil pressure sensor goes and the customer decided to just get a whole long block. He is not a honda guy and just wants to sell it fast. I was reading and it doesn't seem like a very serious problem. I figure worst case I sell the head and whatever parts I can and get my money back or just get a short block from a junkyard. He did weld it and said he pressure tested to ensure it was good to Go. i can try and post a pic so you guys can see. I know sometimes people are iffy about buying things off classifieds but I just bought my prb kpro ecu brand new for $600 on the classifieds. I will be getting a whole swap for about $1000! What do you guys think? I'm a dad so money is tight. What are your thoughts? Please No bashing. I just need help making an informed decision.

I got mine for 490 in way better condition than that, i would walk away from that one, or any that had any welding done to the block.

you can DESTROY a k series by welding it. things on aluminium warp. just not a comfortable feeling IMHO. at that close to the deck, it could EASILY have warped the head mounting surface.

That's what a friend of mine said about the weld. Plus I don't know for sure if it will leak and I would have to deal with that. I saw someone fix theres by plugging it up, pitting a sandwich adapter on the oil filter and tapping the guage there. thDammit I was hoping it was a good find. Well just gotta keep looking. Thanks guys.
