I have been on here a long time, but havent felt much worthiness to post here. I, unlike most, still have a stock 2002 body, but this year it has been gettig much more attention. Still stock body, but now K24A1, Kpro, and soon my 5 lug swap. More pics coming soon (after the swap) but here is is about a year ago. (after some dickbag stole my grill, yes stole my grill)
Please ignore the shitty Lenso fake wheels.

This stuff WOULD be awesome....

IF I could get someone to help me install it.....

I do everything myself normally, but brakes have to be bled and axles popped.

I actually prefer your early body without all the add ons. So clean although a new grill wouldn't hurt! Have fun this weekend, hope you have some help.

Thanks man, I actually got a new grill from a buddy off of an EP he was junking that had been in an accident.

Since the rear pads are the same on all EP, DC chassis, I just got a brand new set for free, thanks to lifetime brakes at Autozone, and remembering my old phone number.

I had to change the front ABS sensor for the one on the CTR, The ones on CTR are shorter for wider axles, you can also space it up with washers, but I had CTR ABS sensors.

I love the way the car looks now with this setup, the tires are 215/50 on a 17x7, previously was 215/45 on a 17x7.5.

Nice progress!!malways had a soft spot for those wheels. Jealous of those Rsx/Ctr brakes. Would love Rsx rotors / caliper upgrade in the slotted fashion.

The setup drives really great and feels awesome. The wheels are more inset now, but the car feels much more stable and takes bumps better with the higher profile tires. The wheels are also lighter, which makes for less unsprung weight. I am not sure how much lighter exactly, but I will find out soon when I take the wheel off to adjust the camber.

The old wheel and tire setup weighs in at 41.2 lbs each. I am gonna say that the tires weigh about 20 lbs?

Hasbro
01-20-2014, 09:44 PM
Don't know their weight as they are discontinued but I'd say 25 lbs new. Avid V4s are High Performance All Seasons. 215/50 High Perf. All Seasons on the Yokohama chart are measuring about 25 lbs. new. Heavy suckers. -2 or 4 lbs. if well worn. If you have a scale, measure as many as will fit on the scale for a more accurate measurement.

You should be able to find a decent Summer tire at about 22 lbs. Depending on what type of tire you desire you can get 225/50s or 45s that are about 22 lbs. due to 2-4 mm less tread and different carcass construction.

Do you think I can fit a 225/45 on there with no rubbing issues? I am on +48s

I do have a scale.

That's 9 or 10 mm closer on the inside than stock plus the wider tire. Maybe someone who has tried that can contribute. I had 225/50/16s with a 9.2" section width on the stock 6 1/2 +45. I couldn't feel them rubbing but there were rubbing marks on the inside of the well... Sounds like spacers would be required.

If race cars can go 200 mph with spacers I think we will be ok. They can get too wide and mess up the geometry but I don't see that as a problem (wheels can do the same thing). My track is at 61"+ front with no apparent problems and SHG/Evan is wider. You can get non hub centric cheap in 5mm but recommend hub centric spacers as they get bigger. However, you need longer lug bolts with 10 mm or larger so you are getting into extra work and money. Depends what you can afford what you want from the car. That extra1% is a lot of trouble and you can make a 215 look and handle pretty darn well with less effort.

Waiver- I'm not an engineer and these are my opinions.

The new wheel/tire combo is 39lbs, so I am saving about 2.2 lb per corner.

I am going to probably get a 5mm spacer, just to gain a little track width, and then go down to a 215/45 on my next tires, then I can lower the car a bit.

Wish I had extra money right now that I could justify throwing some new tires at it. But it already drives better, and the tires on it are in very very good condition.

It weighs 20.7 lbs, about 3 lb lighter than a stock 4 lug spare. I dont normally keep it in, but good to know, and now I have a 5 lug spare, which I was previously lacking.

Sorry old thread I have the same set up as you I'm using CTR brake calipers with the hub and type s axles I learn the hard way. I put my old ep3 abs sensors and the axle teeth chew it off so then I purchase pre owned rsx type s abs sensors but the female connectors did not plug they where too small back to square one I then got new oem ep3 abs sensors from Honda and put 2 1/4 washers and the abs light on my dash turned off finally. The problem I'm having is when I drive and press on the brake the abs kicks in at 4 mph when stopping all the time
