I have been having this issue for years now and I am just freaking tired of it. Recently it has gotten particularly bad.

my driver door has had at very least 8 actuators in it since I have owned my car (2009). They just keep blowing out, I have had them last a year and a half before. But then more recently, I am on number 3 in a matter 2 months.

its not just the driver, since I bought my car, I have had at least 4 in the passenger door.

Why do my actuators keep failing? And why is it so intermittent, they are lasting between 1.5 years and two weeks WTF?

I am not even sure how to look at this, I am gonna try testing the voltage and amperage through the actuator as soon as I get some time.

Did you end up fixing it?

Oh. So many times trying to fix and replaced them. My buddy (former ephatch member too) tested the voltage and amperage as well and they came out good too. I think it all comes down to the faulty actuators. Did you go OEM or aftermarket?

I am using aftermarket actuators, but doesnt 3 in a row seems like theres some other problem???

Maybe. I went with OEM 2 times and then all the rest (lost count) were aftermarket. All failed until the last aftermarket held up. I don't remember what brand was the one that held up but my buddie drilled the inner door and improvise because the last aftermarket one that I bought was slightly different. Then i sold the car later.

But yeah check the voltage and amperage first to see if there is current. I know you are not the only one with this issue as I remeber there were lots of members here who had lots of issues with the actuators in the past.

Does this seem to only affect the earlier models? I own an '05 and a lot of EP owners I know never had this problem.

I've had my EP for over 4 years now and the locks work great.

Could be. Mine was a 2003. My buddie's was an 2002 and he probably replaced his twice.

I was wondering that too, but my buddy has had 2 2002s and neither of his had the issue.
