ok so i purchased function form type 2 coil-overs and had them installed on Tuesday. when i picked up my car it was just dropped too low. i know thats my fault for not specifying it to the installer but yea my 15" wheels were tucking bad and toed out big time. i was somewhat scraping on flat road...

so i called up my friend to help raise it up so it want be so bad. now here are the issues i know my passenger side tie rod is pretty much gone since before the coil-overs, but i hear allot of squeaking when ever i turn the wheel left or right. from reading im going with the tie rods since i know i have one that gone.

:mfrown: but now when my friend looked behind the wheel he saw grease by it and noticed that my cv axle are torn... ughhh! so im about to go raise it up some more "which by the way is a pain for the rear because you have to squeeze your fingers behind the spring to turn it " , but what should i do about the tie rod ends? should i buy oem one? would it happen again or is there another option? i see so many ep3 dropped so low i don't understand how they got around these issues or what they did?

if you knew your tie rod end was busted from the get go, you should have replaced it during the coil over install, i also go with OEM mainly because it reliable and fitment is never an issue, but if your strapped for cash you can look into the MOOG brand. If I'm also reading correctly your CV boot is busted and also needs replacing.

None of your issues have anything to do with being low.

Replace the bad tie rod end immediately if you know its bad.

Except for the squeaking, thats normal when you lower an EP3, it comes from the steering rack, not the tie rod ends. There are really no concrete ways to fix it, it comes and goes.

Buy some tie rod ends from Autozone that have a lifetime warranty, then you never have to worry about them again. Yeah they will hold up fine, actually half the time, aftermarket ones have Zirc fittings on them (unlike the sealed OEM ones) so as long as you grease them they will literally never go bad. Or if they do go bad it is only your fault for not greasing them once a year or two.

Replace that CV boot immediately, actualy just buy another axle, boots are not worth replacing anymore, our axles are like $60 on ebay. And yes they work fine.

If adjusting your coils is a pain, take the wheel off.

get these and put them UNDER the springs up front. dont grease them.

you need to set up your coils like this before you adjust the height.

then this is how you adjust the height.

These three should be stickied along with some other tidbits, if they aren't already.

Went to tire plus to get a alignment and they said they can't because I'm too low to get it aligned...so now I have to find a shop that has a inground lift... this freaking sucks since I paid for three years of alignment....

That's their fault for selling you a 3 year alignment plan and not being able to get you on a rack. Go and get your money back
