So this is how the steering column has always looked in my car.
For some reason it just started bothering me recently.

Not sure what the deal is, but it gets more annoying to me every day.
Been poking around, can't figure out what would cause this.
Alignment is fine, though one thing I've notice is more threads on the driver's side steering arm vs the passenger's side.

Driver's side:

Passenger's side:

So what the fuck? Really bad subframe position? Whole steering rack out of whack/tilted?
Any ideas?

I could be wrong, but I always thought part of a good alignment was getting the steering wheel straight. If those threads on the ball joints were adjusted better, the wheel would be straighter.

I'm not talking about the wheel though.
This is the column itself.

Wheel is easy; re-align, done.
The column...fuuuuck if I know. :D

And as far as that alignment goes, the arms aren't centered out but the alignment itself runs great.
No wear issues, handling problems, etc.

But I'm trying to figure out why the column itself is canted clockwise like that.
The first pick just shows the surface of the steering column covers, which illustrates how far off the column sits from center.

I took the liberty of opening up my column to check it out as mine is slightly clockwise from center as well.
See this collar on the steering column?
That's your issue. All the brackets holding the pillar garnish on are attached to this collar.
Of course it is not able to be loosened or rotated easily so you'd have to live with it or bang on the left side with a BFH to get the stuff rotated back counterclockwise.

All that is crooked is the plastic. Just take it off and put it back on. It comes off really easy with just 2 or 3 screws from underneath.
