Hey guys, although I'm running the JDM rebar, I did mod my USDM ones. Here are the photos to see them finally. Seems no body dose this.

Pretty much your trimming the ends off, pretty straight forward.

The bottom is a unmodded JDM rear rebar. You can see much it needs to sit in.

Here is the bumper on with nothing to see how little room there is.

Basically for the rear, you have to cut mounts off and move the forward on the center part of the bar thus bringing the arch of the bar closer to the chassis. Mine was not moved enough, so I had cut the hump out and re welded a steel plate.

Notes:
When running the facelift bumper and lip with fogs, you need to move the horns or the hit the fog lights.

Great post. It's probably a better idea to mod the USDM front bar since the JDM/EDM looks to be much weaker.

Theres no real way to tell but I dont know... Where and how much you have to cut off to retro the usdm rebar is what scares me. The gauge of steel might be a little thicker but you pretty much cut all the structural integrity from the curved rebar where it meets the frame.

I also think it may depend on your power train. If you have an inter-cooler, the usdm is better in the sense that it offers more clearance in front of the AC condensor/radiator.

A little off topic, but where did you relocate the horns to?

I am running the JDM rebar now that is specifically for the facelift setup. But using modded rebar, mine where under that headlights.

The one thing about this car, the rebar is meant for 5mph impacts. The real protection is the crumple zones. Just so everyone is aware.
