A/C Part Identification

Hey all. The other day, I was driving along and suddenly heard a squealing sound that got louder. I pulled over into the first gas station and turned off the A/C. As soon as it spun down, I heard a loud clunk and something fell onto the ground. This is what I found:

Second post contains a picture of the other side of the part. I believe this is a part of the A/C clutch, correct? Anyone have experience replacing one of these?

That is part of the ac compressor

The nut must have came loose.

So am I basically looking at buying an all new compressor and all that goes with that including checking lines for debris and what not?
