I'm really excited about my new Civic. I have had EF's, an EG and an EK before, but never an EP3. After selling my EK race car in 2014, I was looking at slowly getting back into track events and was looking for something low budget and low maintenance. I got a really sweet deal on this clean 2002 and just drove 800 km each way to get it over Easter weekend. I also bought suspension which I will be installing after the provincial safety inspection this Friday. If all goes well, I should be on the track by mid-April. Can't wait!

Congrats! Euro Yellow is something you don't see often. Take good care of it!

Thanks! I will certainly not drive it in winter, and will try to stabilize the small area of peeling paint in the rear wheel well...

Welcome, there's a guy up your way that tracks his a lot. I'll get some info to you when I have a little more time. What suspension did you get and will you be running in a sanctioned group or track days?

edit; Bwek is the guy I was thinking of, nice guy. He is on Facebook as Alfred Lamirande. The biggest source for tracking EPs would be here: http://forums.clubrsx.com/forumdisplay.php?f=348
RSX but the mods are the same.

Check out HondaFreak's build thread here.

You are probably already aware that the EP suspension is not as good as the old civics but they can really handle well when done right.

Thanks for the info. There are 5 or 6 EP3 track cars that I know of in my area. If you are talking about the white supercharged K24, I have seen that one around a lot, although I've never spoken to the owner/driver.

I got lucky in my search for the right suspension. I'm trying to keep a tight budget for this car, so I was extremely happy to find an old ad in the Ontario race classifieds for a new-in-box Dynamics coilover kit from the 2005-2006 Honda Michelin Challenge series. The height is not adjustable, but the shocks are, as is the front camber. For the price of Ebay coilovers, I will have a very high-quality product on my Civic.

Here is what they look like:

As far as events, I will attend Monday lapping nights at St-Eustache, which I consider my home track, and probably instruct at a few BMW club days at Tremblant (free track time in exchange for instructing). Other than that, we'll see... my club also has a track day at Mosport on Canadian Thanksgiving, so I will try to hit that, as I haven't been there since 2012.

The first time on track should be in 2 weeks at the St-Eustache AISA race school where I instruct, then again 2 weeks later at Calabogie.

So glad to have you here! You might consider starting a build thread. It would be a welcome addition.

I'm glad I found this web site!

My build thread would be short and sweet... I am going to install the coilovers, get some tires and get an alignment, and just drive it as much as possible. I will try to post videos with data as soon as I hit the track. First step is to get the car registered in Quebec, which means passing the inspection. I really hope I pass on the first try...

Very interesting. I look forward to following your thread. Please post class standings as many are interested in how it stacked up and the progression.

The time attack classes in our club are based on tires. I would be in FWD-Street, and probably one of the slowest cars in class, as there are some really quick Civics and Integras in the group. Still, I doubt I will come in last...

I enlisted the help of my friend and mechanic Marc last night and we installed the coilovers. I had tried at home, but there were some bolts that would not budge (with my tools and lack of skill), so I took it to a guy who knows what he is doing and has tools. We got it all done in one evening, although we had to adjust the toe after the install, as there was about an inch of toe in. I will take it to the alignment shop when it stops frikkin' snowing here!

Welcome to the Forum. There is plenty of info to help you along the way. Not a often seen color either.
