Anyone know what this is exactly?

Does anyone know what this is and it's actually purpose. Mine has a split in it and want to know if it could be the reason for my faults.

Well that and easy one, it a rubber hose. LOL

It's purpose it to connect the pcv on the block to the intake manifold. So oil vapours and pressure are released from the block, and to be emissions friendly they are run into the intake manifold and burned up in the combustion chamber.

The is a great location to add an oil catch can. Adding a catch can there would stop oil from entering your intake manifold.
