Hi,

i've installed new shock absorbers (KYB), new oem bearings and oem top hats. Eibachs are moving in struts, i hear a noise when i'm turning a steering wheel while parking especially.

Struts are mounted correctly (there is a triangle on the top hat and top of the cusion spring, all is directed outside to the fender).

I'll add, that i've a new ball joints (555), new arms bushes, new tie rods (Moog).

Any advice?

I'm thinking about adding a rubber to bottom coils...

It definitely sounds like coil binding. Did you make sure the entire assembly is torqued within OEM-spec?

I did some searching and apparently other owners of the Eibach Pro Kit left a rubber piece on the coils and that fixed it.

I've heard of binding before, but people have had to resort to installing radial bearings between the top hat and upper spring perch for coilovers.

All is torqued with oem-spec.

Eibachs have a factory rubber at top coils it looks like this (green arrows):

And i'm thinking about adding rubber at the bottom (red arrows).

Some people in Poland also added a spacers on top mounts, and they claim it helps for binding.

Version 1:

Version 2 (for upper strut bar):

It's fitted between top mount and bearing, here exactly:

So, what do you suggest? Add the rubber to bottom coils?

I would definitely incorporate at least the version 2. I just remembered I pretty much have that spacer as well for my Fortune Auto 500 coilovers and when I reassembled mine, the smooth plastic allowed for a near frictionless surface.

Also, adding rubber to the bottom wouldn't hurt.

I have version 2 spacers, they have 2mm thickness. Soon I'll also have a new oem rubber inserts of top cushion, nr cat 51402-S6M-014.

I know I am replying to an old thread, but what is the fix for this issue? I am having coil binding issues with my Pro-kit also.

Thanks.
