Occasional rough/hard shifts in 2nd and 4th

Hey guys. I bought an ep3 and this car is incredible. The last owner went really hard on it but the owner before had taken amazing care of it. Anyway, it has a short shifter which feels kinda loose and sometimes when I shift into 2nd or 4th, I get sort of a grinding feeling. It's not awful but it doesn't feel right. The clutch is pushed to the floor and shifting into 1st, 3rd and 5th is fine. Anyone have an idea on what it could be?

My guess is synchros. But I'd check/have checked a bunch of easier stuff first - bushings, shifter cables, tranny fluid first, before having to dig in deep.

Luckily I haven't come across this issue yet, but I have heard that it can be a fairly common issue in the EP3- especially for 2nd gear. I hope you're able to get it sorted out! Unfortunately I have no clue where'd you start, but since it is a fairly common issue maybe see if there's any old posts up anywhere that could help!
